A thread is a line. It is very light and thin. However, when it is collected and structured, it becomes a plane and even three dimensional shapes. I was inspired by this aspect of threads. So I researched about the way of dealing with thread. Based on the research, I made my own thread wrapping system and I designed a thread room/table divider set with this system. Basically, I constantly wrapped epoxy coated thread on a rectangular mold. As the thread is stacked over each other, the thread becomes plane and then a rectangular shape at the end.
‘Delicate’ is very light. So I used concrete block as an anchor. This concrete block has the same formal language as the thread divider have. But it has heavy and rough image. This image of concrete makes the image of thread divider much lighter and fragile.
